Cast Products Inc. is planning a $6.7 million expansion that will add 30,000 square feet and an automated aluminum foundry to its facility in Athens. The expansion will add 14 jobs and help retain the company’s 200-plus employees.
CPI, which has been in business since 1979 in Athens, is an aluminum component manufacturer. The company already has more than 100,000 square feet of space in Athens where it designs, engineers and manufactures aluminum castings and ships its products across the U.S. and exports internationally.
“The new facility and foundry will allow us to meet current and future demand,” said Colby Medlen, chief operating officer of CPI.
Colin McMurry, CPI chief financial officer, adds, “This expansion will allow us to pursue new industries and opportunities that will create job growth across all facets of our company. Our expansion is a testament to the hard work of our employees, and we are excited for the opportunity to continue that growth here in Limestone County.”
Among the family-owned company’s many products are bumper corner covers, back-up camera housing, door hardware, flange and trim rings, hose tray mounts, ladder brackets, oxygen cylinder mounts, IV hangers and more.
