The National Labor Relations Board has set Wednesday and Thursday as voting days for Birmingham Starbucks workers to vote on whether to unionize. If approved, they’d be represented by Workers United, Southern Regional Joint Board.   – AL.com

 

Hawkins named Vestavia chamber president

Michelle Hawkins has been named the new president of the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce. She’ll begin her role June 13, replacing Karen Odle, who is retiring. Hawkins is the founder of Alabama Weddings magazine. – Vestavia Voice

Montevallo adds business concentrations

The University of Montevallo’s Stephens College of Business will be adding four new concentrations effective this fall. The concentrations include sustainable finance, financial sales, international management and human resources. – University of Montevallo

 

Birmingham adding transit line for World Games

Birmingham will have an added transportation line that will shuttle spectators to and from the World Games from July 7 to July 17. Free shuttles will run in loops among the venues from 7 a.m.-11 p.m. each day. – Birmingham Times
