Avion Solutions wins $43.5 million Army contract

The Huntsville firm will provide technical support for the Army’s Propulsion Project

Avion provides support for varied Army propulsion systems.

Huntsville-based Avion Solutions has been awarded a $43.5 million U.S. Army contract to provide technical support for the Propulsion Project and Aircraft Systems in the Systems Readiness Directorate.

“Avion, as the prime contractor, will continue to support SRD Propulsion Division,” Avion said in announcing the contract award, “providing analysis of aviation propulsion engines and systems, subsystems, component design and operation; review of test plans and reports, witnessing of tests, failure analysis and investigation, system safety and risk management assessment, Deficiency Report (DR) analysis and recommendations, cost/budget analysis, technical support, project engineering and drive systems support.”

The firm says it is honored to continue its support work for the next five years and appreciates “the opportunity to continue supporting the SRD Propulsion Division and their mission to provide engineering support for systems engineering/component improvement programs, engine development programs, standardization activities, and certification and airworthiness qualification efforts for U.S. Army aircraft propulsion systems.”

Avion is an employee-owned company, based in Huntsville and with offices across the country, which has been providing engineering and logistics solutions to Department of Defense clients for more than 30 years.
