Autocar dump truck named 2021 top new product

The end user, contractors, recognized the truck over a 16-month process.

Autocar’s DC-64D, made in Birmingham, has been recognized by Equipment Today.

Autocar LLC’s Class 8 DC-64D Dump Truck has been named to Equipment Today’s 2021 Contractors’ Top 50 New Products.

Autocar is North America’s oldest brand of specialized severe-duty vocational trucks. It’s DC-64D, built in Birmingham, at the company’s manufacturing plant, was announced this past May as the fourth iteration of the DC-64 line.

Autocar partners directly with its customers to build trucks specifically engineered for their intended application. It also collaborates with select body companies to provide body-chassis integration through an extensive pre-engineering process.

Autocar collaborated with RS Godwin SCS on the dump body and Hardox steel for durability and lighter weight for the DC-64D. Its power comes from multiple Cummins engine options, providing customers with performance, fuel economy and lower operating costs per mile.

Equipment Today recognized the brand based on end-user input over a 16-month period.

The DC-64D is built from the ground up in Birmingham, along with the DC-64R for refuse, DC-64M for mixers and DC-64P for pump. It is purpose built for the construction industry.
