Australia’s Allegiance Coal will buy Cordova’s Black Warrior Minerals. Allegiance will pay $4 million in cash and replace the $5.3 million reclamation bond. – Mining Weekly 

Snead State grant will fund workforce center
A $4 million grant announced by Gov. Kay Ivey will be used by Snead State Community College to build a regional workforce training center in Marshall County. Funding is coming from the Public School and College Authority bond issue. The facility will offer training in four areas: industrial systems technology and mechatronics; welding technology; machine tool technology; and heating, ventilation and air conditioning. – News 19

Alabama Innovation Corporation will promote entrepreneurship
In a ceremonial bill signing Thursday, Gov. Kay Ivey marked the establishment of the Alabama Innovation Corporation, which will promote innovation and entrepreneurship in technology. An 11-member board will lead the AIC, comprised of five public officials and six from the private sector appointed by the governor.  – AL.com
