Attalla celebrates new Koch Foods facility

The ribbon was cut Thursday on Koch Foods’ new feed mill and distribution facility in Attalla. The $60 million facility had been under construction since November 2019 and began producing feed in November 2021. – The Gadsden Times

$12 million drug lab, center coming to Dothan

A new mental health crisis center and drug forensics lab will be built in Dothan beginning in a few months with an investment of about $12 million for both facilities. The $5.3 million drug lab on Ennis Road will be the sixth drug lab in the state. No location has been announced for the crisis center. – AL.com

Auburn’s Anders bookstore closes

After more than 50 years in business, Anders Bookstore in Alabama has shut its doors to make room for a new hotel. The 177-room Graduate Hotel will be the first Alabama location for the hotel chain. – OA Now

Shipping group to meet in Mobile

The Gulf States Shipbuilding Consortium has announced it will host its annual conference at The Admiral in Mobile April 27-28. Author Pete Havel will headline the conference, which will focus on labor issues facing the shipbuilding industry. – WorkBoat
