Alabama Launchpad, which has been awarding money to startups since 2006, is restructuring in 2025, adding three industry tracks, increasing funding opportunities and making other changes.
In 2025, Alabama Launchpad finalists will compete in one of three tracks: life sciences, technology or consumer goods. The tracks will mean startups will receive more tailored mentorship.
The Alabama Launchpad schedule will feature two competition cycles per year, larger prize-money pools and dedicated funding for each track. Applications for Cycle 1 for 2025 open Jan. 15 and close Feb. 14.
“This evolution reflects Alabama Launchpad’s ongoing commitment to serving as a catalyst for entrepreneurial growth in Alabama,” said Miller Girvin, president of the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama, which runs Alabama Launchpad. “By focusing on industry-specific mentorship and funding, we’re creating an ecosystem where startups across diverse sectors can thrive.”
Since 2006, Alabama Launchpad has awarded more than $6.4 million to more than 120 startups.
“As we look ahead to 2025, Alabama Launchpad remains committed to nurturing the next generation of innovators who will shape Alabama’s economy,” Girvin said. “These updates will allow us to expand our impact and better support the diverse and promising startups that call Alabama home.”
