Greece’s largest power utility is building its pilot fiber wholesale network with a fiber access platform and cloud software developed by Adtran, based in Huntsville. Greece’s Public Power Corporation has about 6 million electricity customers. – Adtran

 

Montgomery will extend high-speed internet network to Auburn

The City of Montgomery will extend its high-speed network to Auburn. The Montgomery Internet Exchange, MGMix, will extend its network fabric to AUBix, a multi-tenant data center in Auburn. The move will improve the internet for the Montgomery area, as well as colleges and businesses along the I-85 corridor, Montgomery’s mayor said.  – Opelika Observer

Birmingham approves new bike, scooter service

The Birmingham City Council has approved a new bike-and-scooter sharing service for the city. San Francisco-based Lime will operate in Birmingham through June 2024.  – Patch
