The Alabama Commission on Higher Education is requesting $2.01 billion in funding for the state’s two- and four-year institutions in fiscal year 2023. That’s a 17.53% increase over the request for fiscal year 2022. – Alabama Daily News

 

Poarch Band gets approval for Chicago Wind Creek casino

Alabama’s Poarch Band of Creek Indians and Wind Creek Hospitality have received approval to build a hotel and casino in Chicago. The south suburban casino should open in 2023.
