10 sites share $20M in Growing Alabama funding

Money helps to ready industrial sites

Ten economic development organizations will receive more than $20 million to help prepare industrial sites for new investments.

The awards from Gov. Kay Ivey’s office are part of the Growing Alabama Tax Credit program, which uses private dollars to improve publicly owned sites for economic development. Under the program, donors receive a tax credit equal to the value of their contributions to approved economic development organizations.

“As more companies seek to locate and expand in Alabama, Growing Alabama helps local communities large and small prepare for them,” Ivey said. “From Gulf Shores to The Shoals, this latest round of funding is further proof of not just the state’s commitment to expansion, but that of Alabamians who want to see their communities succeed.”
