DAS North America, an auto supplier that came to Montgomery in 2012, has announced a $77.6 million expansion of its Montgomery plant.
The expansion brings total investment in Montgomery to about $235.8 million, according to the Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“We are proud to expand our presence in Montgomery and strengthen our partnership with the state of Alabama and the local community,” said Sean Kim, COO of DAS North America, in a news release by the chamber. “This investment reflects our confidence in the region’s workforce and business environment.”
DAS North America currently employs about 500 people, and the expansion is expected to bring 100 new jobs to Montgomery.
Construction is scheduled for completion by early 2027, with phased operations beginning in late 2027 and full operations expected by 2028.
Based in South Korea, DAS manufactures car seat frames for Hyundai and Kia.
