Austal USA President Michelle Kruger will retire effective June 1, with COO Gene Miller immediately assuming the position of interim president.
Kruger will be president emeritus of Austal through June 1.
Kruger became president in 2022 and “guided Austal USA through a period of remarkable growth and transformative progress,” the company said, adding that during that time period Austal enhanced its operational capabilities and laid a strong foundation for the future.
“We are deeply grateful for Michelle’s vision, commitment and the lasting impact that she has made on our organization,” said Austal USA’s board of managers Chairman Chris Chadwick.
Chadwick will serve as Austal’s executive chairman, working closely with Miller during the leadership transition, Austal said.
Austal USA is a ship manufacturer headquartered in Mobile.
