8 will be honored at National Philanthropy Day awards luncheon

Awards given by Association of Fundraising Professionals Alabama Chapter

Eight individuals and companies will be honored for their philanthropy efforts at the Association of Fundraising Professionals Alabama Chapter’s National Philanthropy Day awards luncheon in November.

The awards and honorees for 2024 are:

  • William M. and Virginia B. Spencer Outstanding Philanthropist – Beth Thorne Stukes, nominated by Samford University and Auburn University
  • United Way of Central Alabama Outstanding Civic Leader – Dora and Sanjay Singh, nominated by Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham
  • Outstanding Corporate Citizen – Brasfield & Gorrie, nominated by the University of Alabama at Birmingham
  • Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham Outstanding Professional Advisor Gregory D. Hyde, nominated by Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham
  • William S. Roth Outstanding Fundraising Executive – Virginia Gilbert Loftin, nominated by Birmingham-Southern College
  • Outstanding Charitable Organization – Megan Montgomery Foundation to Prevent Domestic Violence, nominated by Lisa Sims Harrison
  • Bill Moran Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy – Gabby Bolden, nominated by Children’s of Alabama
  • AFP Alabama Chapter Inclusion Diversity Equity and Access (IDEA) Award – XVI, nominated by Morgan Emahiser Creative

AFP Alabama recognizes individuals, corporations, foundations, civic and service groups, and nonprofit organizations across the state whose efforts change the face of our community. More than 140 fundraising professionals are members of AFP Alabama and work together to to advance philanthropy by helping people and organizations practice effective and ethical fundraising. Presented in partnership with Business Alabama, the event is chaired this year by Kari Hudson of Purpose Possible.

AFP Alabama’s luncheon will take place Nov. 15 at The Club. Sponsorships are available through Business Alabama and tickets go on sale Aug. 1. Go here for more information.
