Katherine Zachara is executive director of the nonprofit Innovate Birmingham that, through corporate partnerships, offers free, fast-track coding and data analytics training boot camps to prepare un- and underemployed adults for well-paid IT jobs while meeting the growing demand for tech talent in the metro area. In addition, the organization provides professional development classes and apprenticeships with local companies. Zachara’s role at Innovate Birmingham comes following several years engaged in issues related to domestic and international workforce development and training. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Boston College and a master’s degree in international affairs and conflict resolution from George Washington University.
