Walker County will have innovation center
The Walker Area Community Foundation is creating the Herman Drummond Center of Innovation, serving students in Walker County and Jasper City School systems. The 120,000-square-foot facility in Jasper will include robotics facilities, advanced labs, high-tech classrooms and more. – Bham Now
Official Saban Field dedication on Saturday
The University of Alabama will officially name the Bryant-Denny Stadium field after former coach Nick Saban and his family on Saturday. Events will take place during the 2:30 p.m. Walk of Champions and halftime of the game against South Florida, which kicks off at 6 p.m. – Bama Buzz
Alabama Film Office names new director
Meghann Bridgeman, CEO of Create Birmingham, has been named director of the Alabama Film Office. She’ll begin the job with the Alabama Department of Commerce in January.  – AL.com
