Vulcan Inc. has completed an $18.5 million expansion of its aluminum mill in Foley to meet growing demand in the aluminum industry. Vulcan added a 24, 000-square-foot building to its existing facility, along with new furnaces and a new cooling tower.
These improvements enable the mill to double its annual output of aluminum from 50 million to 100 million pounds. In addition, the acquisition of new equipment will allow Vulcan to expand its product offerings to include additional aluminum alloys required to serve new markets. Products now include aluminum coil, aluminum blanks and sheet, utility signs and markers, custom metal stampings and the company’s own asset management software.
