United Bank awarded $9 million from treasury

Atmore-based United Bank has been given a $9 million Capital Magnet Fund award from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund. The award, the fourth the bank has received since 2017, is for the bank’s commitment to bring affordable housing to communities in Alabama, Florida and other states.  – Cision

 

Hoover OKs B&B project

A five-story bed-and-breakfast project has received the OK from the Hoover Planning and Zoning Commission. The five-story, 24-room Brock’s Gap Boutique BnB would include a rooftop bar and pool, event space and private-member cigar bar. – Hoover Sun

Whataburger continues Alabama growth

The burger chain Whataburger opened its newest location in Cullman over the weekend. The chain plans to open restaurants soon in Florence, Huntsville and Hazel Green.  – AL.com
