United Bancorporation of Alabama, parent company of United Bank, Town-Country United Bank and UB Community Development, has received $123 million from the U.S. Department of the Treasury to be used to increase lending efforts for borrowers in underserved, low-income and minority communities.  – Yahoo! Alabama ranks 33rd in CNBC’s Top States for Business list. North Carolina topped the list, followed by Washington, Virginia, Colorado and Texas.  – CNBC

Space Command move to Huntsville a step closer

The planned relocation of the U.S. Space Command headquarters to Alabama’s Redstone Arsenal is a step closer after an environmental review conducted by the U.S. Air Force.  The review found no issues with the proposed 60-acre site. – News 19

 

UA unveils refreshed strategic plan

The University of Alabama has unveiled a refreshed strategic plan, a five-year plan for the university’s academics, research and community growth and engagement. The new plan is called Advancing the Flagship: The Next Phase, building on Advancing the Flagship, which launched in 2016.  – University of Alabama
