A mailbox in the parking lot of the Amazon warehouse in Bessemer needs to go, according to union organizers who have won a second union vote at the facility. Labor officials cited the mailbox in scrapping the results of the original vote, saying Amazon improperly influenced the vote.  – NPR

 

New Florence logo draws social media ire

A newly unveiled logo and slogan for Florence has drawn criticism on social media. Thousands have signed on online petition against the logo, saying city officials should go back to the drawing board. – News 19

Landing sign will replace Shipt’s

A sign for Landing, the flexible apartment living app that moved its headquarters from California to Birmingham, will replace the Shipt sign atop its headquarters in downtown Birmingham. Bill Smith founded Shipt and sold it to Target in 2017 before founding Landing. The new Landing sign will go up on Sunday. – GlobeNewswire

 

Austal celebrates keel-laying

Austal USA in Mobile celebrated the keel-laying of the future USNS Cody (EPF 14) at its facility. Cody is one of 15 Spearhead class Expeditionary Fast Transports the Navy has contracted Austal to build. It is named for the city of Cody in Wyoming. – Naval News
