Dr. Federico Fraternale of the University of Alabama in Huntsvile has been awarded an $842,000 NASA heliophysics grant. The award is to develop new global models of the heliosphere that incorporate interstellar neutral atoms that can help reveal the properties of space. – University of Alabama in Huntsville

UAB, Whitfield Regional launch tele-ICU program

Whitfield Regional Hospital has partnered with the University of Alabama at Birmingham to offer 24-hour tele-ICU support that includes ICU nurses and tele-intensivists stationed at UAB. Whitfield’s eight-bed ICU will be monitored remotely 24/7 by the UAB Tele-ICU team. – University of Alabama at Birmingham

Fairway Social breaks ground in Birmingham
