The University of Alabama in Huntsville is the Best Value College in Alabama, according to SmartAsset’s latest ranking.
The school was number one on the list, based on its performance in categories including scholarships, starting salary of new graduates, tuition, living costs and retention rate.
Other Alabama schools in the top 10 were, in order, the University of Alabama, Auburn University, University of South Alabama, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama A&M University, Birmingham-Southern College, Troy University, Jacksonville State University and Samford University.
In the survey, starting salary, tuition and living costs each counted 25%, with 12.5% weighting for scholarships/grants and retention rate.
UAH ranked first in starting salary, while Gadsden State Community College topped both the tuition and living costs lists.
This is the sixth year that SmartAsset has compiled its Best Value list. SmartAsset is a New York-based personal finance technology company.
