UA will have new transit provider
Virginia-based Groome Transportation will be the University of Alabama’s new provider for its Crimson Ride transit services. The university’s longtime provider, Transdev (or First Transit), announced last week it will be closing its operations in Tuscaloosa by December, affecting 88 employees. — AL.com
Montgomery agriculture company to shut down
Ohio-based The Andersons Inc. is shutting down its Montgomery operation on Dec. 2, according to a notice filed on the Alabama WARN list. The closing of the agriculture and renewable fuels plant will impact 64 workers. — AL.com
