Synovus Bank today announced that Tyrone Fenderson Jr. has been named market president for Mobile–Baldwin County. Fenderson joins Synovus from BBVA Compass Bank, where he served as senior vice president, corporate banking for Mobile and Baldwin County since 2016. He was previously with Synovus in Birmingham from 2001 to 2005.

Fenderson is active with several community organizations including serving as chairman of the Mayor’s Financial Advisory Committee for the City of Mobile, immediate past chairman and director of Leadership Alabama, chairman of the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science Foundation, and a member of the Board of Directors of Providence Hospital.
Fenderson earned his bachelor’s degree from Faulkner University and his MBA from Troy University. He is a graduate of the Alabama Banking School at University of South Alabama, the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University, and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at University of Pennsylvania.
