Birmingham’s D.H. Griffin Wrecking Company, along with a company from Oklahoma, imploded the University of Alabama’s Julia Tutwiler Hall, a 13-story dormitory that had housed more than 50,000 women since opening in 1968. UA has built a new Tutwiler Hall next to the one that was imploded. – WVTM 13

 

Greenetrack ordered to repay millions in back taxes

The Alabama Supreme Court has overturned a judgment in favor of Greenetrack, ordering the bingo business to pay $76 million in unpaid taxes. This is the culmination of a lawsuit that was filed against Greenetrack in 2011.  – Tuscaloosa News
