Trachte plans expansion at Vernon facility
Trachte Building Systems, which manufactures steel self-storage systems, is expanding its facility in Vernon in Northwest Alabama. The Wisconsin-based Trachte plans to invest $11.5 million and create 70 new jobs over the next three years. – Made in Alabama

Talladega College president to step down
Billy C. Hawkins, president of Talladega College since 2008, will step down June 30. Among other accomplishments at the school, Hawkins oversaw the launch of the school’s first graduate program, an online Master of Science in computer information services. – Talladega College
