Toray Composite Materials America is investing $15 million to double the production capacity of carbon fiber. The upgrade will begin in April 2023 and will be finished five months later, the company says.  – Aerospace Manufacturing and Design

 

TaxxWiz up for $1 million prize

Birmingham startup TaxxWiz, a former winner at Alabama Launchpad, is now one of 50 finalists for Black Ambition, founded by musician Pharrell Williams. The finalists will compete for a $1 million top prize. – Bham Now

Baumhower’s coming to Troy

AmFirst raises $150,000

America’s First Federal Credit Union raised $150,000 through its annual golf tournament at RTJ Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley. AmFirst gave $50,000 each to YouthServe Inc., Bundles of Hope Diaper Bank and the Literacy Council. – AmFirst
