State grant should help Tuscaloosa County business expand
Gov. Kay Ivey has announced a $258,000 grant to help Schnellecke Logistics near Tuscaloosa build a new building and create 162 new jobs. The new building will be near the Mercedes-Benz U.S. International plant and will help the company begin producing electric vehicles. – WBRC 6

The Alabama Coal Association is now the Alabama Mining Association. The mission of the rebranded organization is “to promote the safe and sustainable mining of the natural resources that strengthen our infrastructure and grow our economy for all Alabamians.”  – Daily Mountain Eagle

Rayborn new head of Alabama Rural Electric Association
Karl G. Rayborn will become president and CEO of the Alabama Rural Electric Association effective Feb. 22. He replaces Fred Braswell, who is retiring after 22 years in the job. AREA is the trade association that serves Alabama’s 22 electric distribution cooperatives, PowerSouth Energy Cooperative and the Tennessee Valley Authority.  – The Greenville Advocate

Chicken Salad Chick headquarters moving to Atlanta
Auburn-based Chicken Salad Chick will move its headquarters to Atlanta during the first quarter of 2021. The chicken salad chain was founded by Stacy Brown and her late husband, Kevin Brown, in 2008. The franchise has seen 37 new stores open in 2020, with 40 more planned for 2021. – QSR
