SpaceX wins $2.9 billion lunar lander contract; Dynetics was contender
Elon Musk’s SpaceX has won a $2.9 billion contract to build a lunar landing system. SpaceX was chosen last year – along with Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin and Huntsville’s Dynetics – to develop technology for the Human Landing System program. NASA announced Friday that SpaceX’s “Starship” had beaten the other two for the contract.  – WBFO 

Talladega’s Filterbuy establishing plant in Pennsylvania
Filterbuy, a Talladega-based company that manufactures filters for heating and air conditioning systems, will invest at least $2.15 million to renovate an industrial site in a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, suburb. It will be the first northeastern U.S. plant for the company that employs almost 1,000 people in Alabama, Florida and Utah. – Thomasnet

Lake Martin property in demand
Russell Lands sold a record 503 waterfront homes on Lake Martin for the 12-month period ending March 31, and inventory remains low across the more than 750 miles of lake shoreline. One Realtor says that 57 waterfront homes are for sale, a number that was three times as big pre-pandemic. – Alexander City Outlook

Gulf Shores airport will offer charters to Atlanta, Nashville, Baton Rouge
Beginning in June, carrier Ultimate Air Shuttle will fly charters four days a week from Gulf Shores’ Jack Edwards Airport. Destinations for the new service, with prices beginning at $245, will be Atlanta, Nashville and Baton Rouge. – AL.com
