Southern Company won the 92nd Edison Award, the electric power industry’s most prestigious honor. The award was for the company’s energy storage system initiatives, including its Energy Storage Research Center in Birmingham. Alabama higher education will get $72m from CARES Act
The Alabama Community College System, public four-year institutions and independent colleges will share $72 million in CARES Act funds, Gov. Kay Ivey said. The money will help the schools with technology and infrastructure related to remote instruction. – WHNT-19

Enviva awarded $750,000 grant for Sumter County mill
