Report: Ametek near $1.5 billion deal to acquire Huntsville’s Abaco
Bloomberg is reporting that Ametek Inc. is in “advanced talks” to buy Huntsville’s Abaco Systems Inc. for up to $1.5 billion. Veritas has owned Abaco, which works in aviation systems, information processing and network communications, since 2015. Ametek, based in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, manufactures electronic instruments and electromechanical devices.  – Bloomberg

An economic impact report from Google says the company helped bring $1.17 billion of economic activity to Alabama in 2020. This included helping 17,700 businesses, nonprofits, publishers, creators and developers, Google says.  – Google

Huntsville residential building breaks ground
