The Jefferson County Commission approved $1 million to go to the Urban League and Jefferson County Committee for Economic Opportunity (JCCEO). Alabama among top states for veterans
Alabama ranks 17th in Smart Asset’s list of Best States for Veterans. To come up with its list SmartAsset looked at veterans as a percentage of population, veteran unemployment rate, overall unemployment rate, percentage of veterans living below the poverty line, housing costs as a percentage of median income for veterans, percentage of a state’s businesses owned by veterans, number of VA health centers per 100,000 veterans, number of VA benefits administration facilities per 100,000 residents and taxes on military pensions.  – SmartAsset

State business leaders more confident in fourth quarter
Alabama’s business leaders are expressing confidence going into the fourth quarter of 2020, according to the Center for Business Economics and Research at the University of Alabama. Business confidence increased 3.4 points over confidence for the third quarter. The report chalks that up to new innovations and safety measures fighting COVID-19. – University of Alabama
