Governor to sign prison agreements today; Regions will end financing
Gov. Kay Ivey will sign two agreements today for privately built prisons, both to be constructed by CoreCivic,one of the nation’s largest private prison companies. Birmingham-based Regions said they will not continue a line of credit with CoreCivic beyond 2023, when their contract with the group ends.  – Alabama Political Reporter

A.G. Gaston conference to be held virtually
Birmingham’s A.G. Gaston Conference, a small-business and economic development event, will be held virtually Feb. 23—24, and it will be free. The event honors the legacy of Dr. A.G. Birmingham’s GoodJob raises $3 million in funding
Birmingham’s GoodJob, a tech company that uses data and psychology to improve time-to-hire and employee retention rates, has secured $3 million in funding, it has announced.
