Gas prices about to get ugly, in part because of Iran
As July arrived, price monitoring site GasBuddy reported that stations around Montgomery were selling gas for about a nickel more than last week. But that bump on the first day of July could be just the beginning of a long, hot summer of price increases in Alabama. “…It may get ugly at the pump,” said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy. – Montgomery Advertiser

Roofer, 15, dies first day on the job in Cullman accident
A 15-year-old child fell approximately 40 feet while working on a roof in Cullman. Police confirm the minor died as a result of the fall. Cullman Police received a call at 10:55 a.m. Monday of the accident. Officers tell us this was the 15-year-old’s first day on the job and he was working alongside his brother. The child was from Guatemala and lives in the Vestavia Hills area. He fell after stepping onto an unsupported section of the roof. – WIAT
