Bessemer-based Blox has received a $40 million minority investment from Atlanta’s ASH Ventures. The Series B commitment should close later this quarter. Blox developed the Design Manufacture Construct platform, which builds modules that can be inserted into the construction process, mainly in the health care industry. – AL.com

American Apparel lands $1.1 million DOD agreement
Selma’s American Apparel will use $1.1 million from the Department of Defense to purchase equipment that will increase manufacturing automation as the company produces U.S. military uniforms. The CARES Act money will also allow American Apparel to retain current staff and create up to 75 new jobs. – Mirage
