Alabama Credit Union donates to start entrepreneurship professorship
Alabama Credit Union has donated $100,000 to the University of Alabama in Huntsville to create a professorship of entrepreneurship in the College of Business. The college will use the professorship to recognize one or more faculty who focus on the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation or business strategy.  – University of Alabama in Huntsville 

ADEM shuts down poultry waste operation
The Alabama Department of Environmental Management issued a cease-and-desist order Wednesday to Denali Water Solutions to stop depositing poultry waste as a site in north Jefferson County. Nearby residents had complained about odors coming from the site. ADEM found multiple violations at the site operated by the Arkansas-based company. – AL.com

Tuition freeze for community colleges
The Alabama Community College System says that tuition will not increase for the 2021-2022 academic year. The tuition freeze is among other efforts rolled out to expand access to higher education, including deploying 10,500 laptops to students. – WVTM 13 

Shelton State, Lawson State presidents named
Brad Newman, a former plant manager for ZF Chassis Systems, has been named president of Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa. And Cynthia Anthony, who has 30 years of higher education experience, is the new president of Birmingham’s Lawson State Community College. She has been interim president since September.  – Alabama Political Reporter
