About 400 workers went on strike at Constellium, an aluminum plant in Muscle Shoals. The members of the United Steelworkers of America are protesting what they say are unfair labor practices and disagreements over health care.  – Bloomberg

UAB awarded contract for freezers in space
NASA has awarded a potential $48.3 million contract to the University of Alabama at Birmingham to provide freezers for science samples aboard the International Space Station. The contract, for Cold Stowage II, begins Jan. 1, 2021, and runs through the end of September 2022.  – Cision

Judson College may close if donations not received
Judson College in Marion says it will close at the end of the year unless $500,000 in donations is received by Dec. 31 and another $1 million committed for the coming year. The news came in a letter from Mark Tew, president of the only all-women college in Alabama. – Alabama Political Reporter
