Todd Greer has been named executive director of Innovation Portal, effective March 1. He previously served as vice president of academic affairs at the University of Mobile.
In his role at the University of Mobile, he helped launch the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice program, helped lead the school’s technology transformation and had fiscal oversight of seven university schools/colleges, along with information technology, student services and library services. He holds a doctorate in organizational leadership with a major in human resource development from Regent University.
“After serving as a member of the board of directors and watching the exciting growth in our entrepreneurial ecosystem, I am overjoyed to join the team at Innovation Portal as we, daily, work to support founders and small business owners here in South Alabama,” said Greer.
He has served as a board member and instructor for several local organizations include the Minority Business Accelerator, I-Corps, the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneur Academy, the United Way of Southwest Alabama and Mobile United. He currently serves on the boards of Innovation Portal, Real Advice Mentoring Program, Springboard to Success Inc. and ForMidtown.

In addition to his background, experience, education and training, his relationships in both the education and busines sectors will be enormously beneficial for the future of Innovation Portal and those we serve,” said Henry O’Connor, Innovation Portal Board co-chair.
Innovation Portal is a nonprofit incubator and innovation hub focused on startup growth in the Gulf Coast region.
