Alabamians enjoy debating barbecue — specifically who serves the best — nearly as much as they enjoy eating it. Full Moon BBQ plans to add to the debate in 2014 by adding three new locations, in Dothan, Montgomery and Opelika.
Full Moon, which acquired its first location in 1996 on Birmingham’s Southside, opened three locations last year, for a total of 12 restaurants, serving up its version of Southern-style barbecue.
“Thanks to our loyal customers and hard working team, Full Moon has seen tremendous growth. We are excited to bring Full Moon to these new locations in 2014, and we are busy planning many other franchise locations for 2015, ” said company co-owner David Maluff.
Full Moon Opelika, owned by Scott Maluff and Ken Maluff, will be located in Tiger Town, with construction scheduled to start in early 2014. Owners Bryan Applefield and Scott Applefield plan to start construction on Full Moon Dothan on Highway 231 South across from Academy Sports, in the early part of 2014. Operating Partner Chris Woodward will manage the Montgomery franchise, located in Chase Corner, off of Interstate 85 and Taylor Road, with construction planned for Summer 2014.
Besides barbecue, the stores feature fresh salads, hand-breaded chicken tenders, farm-raised catfish, Buffalo-style wings and overstuffed baked potatoes.
