SmartBank recently announced the hiring of Thomas Henken, who will serve as vice president and relationship manager in the Huntsville market.
“With decades of banking experience, Thomas is a seasoned professional who brings a unique perspective to our Huntsville location,” said John McMullan, senior vice president, Madison County Market Executive. “His passion for the field and comprehensive knowledge of the Huntsville market will be a wonderful asset to the team and we are delighted to have him join us.”
A native of Mobile, Ala., Henken has more than 30 years of banking and managerial experience. Most recently, Henken spent three years as a revolving loan fund coordinator for The Top of Alabama Regional Council of Governments (TARCOG). In this role, he acted as a resource to new and expanding businesses in need of start-up or gap financing.
Henken earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration/management from the University of South Alabama. He is highly involved in the Huntsville community, acting as a member of the advisory committee for Holy Spirit Regional Catholic School. He is also a veteran, having served in the United States Navy.
