Hawkins Inc., a specialty chemical and ingredients company based in Minnesota, has acquired Water and Waste Specialties, a Theodore-based company that serves customers throughout Alabama. This comes on the heels of Hawkins’ purchase of Southeast Water Systems. – Bluefield Daily Telegraph
Cadence, BancorpSouth merger complete
Cadence and BancorpSouth have completed their merger. The surviving company is named Cadence Bank, with some branches in Alabama. The banks will continue operating under their old brands until they finish integrating their systems, which is expected in late 2022. – News 19
Buc-ee’s will break ground in Athens mid-month
Buc-ee’s will break ground on its fourth location in Alabama Nov. 17 in Athens. The Texas-based convenience store and gas station has locations in Baldwin County and Leeds and just broke ground on a facility in Auburn. – AL.com
