MBUSI in Vance makes the C-Class, GLS-SUV, GLE-SUV and the GLE-Coupe. The plant has more than 6 million square feet that includes two large body shops that feed into one paint shop and two assembly shops and a logistics center.

Warrior Met, in Brookwood, mines metallurgical coal for the global steel industry. The underground mines in Brookwood are 1,400 to 2,100 feet underground, making them some of the deepest vertical shaft coal mines in North America. 

1,348 — Michelin/BF Goodrich Tire Manufacturing
Founded in 1946, Michelin/BF Goodrich makes aftermarket tires. The plant has more than 1.6 million square feet of manufacturing space.

Phifer makes aluminum and fiberglass inset screening in Tuscaloosa. Started in 1952, the company’s weaving expertise has helped it branch out into interior and exterior sun control fabrics for commercial and residential applications, as well as engineered products of metal and textile meshes for industrial applications.
