Texas oil producer plans storage hub near Mobile

Texas-based oil producer Denbury said it plans to develop a carbon dioxide storage hub on 75,000 acres near Mobile, where it will have the potential to store more than 300 million metric tons of CO2. The project could be completed by 2026.  – S&P Global

 

Florence cancels contract with logo creators

Coming on the heels of a controversial logo it created for the city of Florence, Birmingham’s Tatum Design has canceled a $75,000 contract for creation of a new website for Florence. Mayor Andy Betterton said the cancellation was by mutual agreement.  – WTVA

Christina Stimpson will lead Alabama international trade efforts

Christina Stimpson has been named head of the Alabama Office of International Trade. She comes to the Department of Commerce from the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, where she worked in international trade and economic development roles. – Made in Alabama

 

Fashion, design center coming to UA

The University of Alabama College of Human Environmental Sciences plans to build Drummond Lyon Hall to house its fashion retailing and apparel design programs. A $4 million fundraising effort has started, and the building will be named after 1986 UA alumna Terri Drummond Lyon. – WBRC 6
