Stadium renovation underway in Huntsville

Huntsville’s Joe Davis Stadium, once home of the Huntsville Stars baseball team, is getting a $28 million renovation. Construction has started, and the project is expected to be finished in 14 months. The renovation will include 6,600 new seats and a new turf field. – News 19

 

Prison contract still under wraps

Though the state has confirmed a contract with Caddell Construction to build a men’s prison in Elmore County, the contract and many of its details have not been announced. The Alabama Department of Corrections said the contract has not been released, yet, because it needs to be redacted and that it is a lengthy contract. – WBHM

Evernest acquires Kansas City business

Birmingham-based Evernest, a real estate and property management firm, has acquired the property management portion of Kansas City-based Hunter Properties. It’s Evernest’s jump into the Kansas City market, which joins 16 other real estate markets in which the company is involved. – Cision

 

Philadelphia-area firm buys Marca

In its first expansion out of greater Philadelphia, investment advisory firm Diversified LLC has acquired Marca Life Planning, a 30-year-old investment firm with headquarters in Birmingham. Marca has about $67 million in assets under management. – Delaware Business Times
