
Springhill Medical Center has named Deanna Kyrimis as its new president and chief executive officer. She starts on Oct. 6.
Kyrimis has 20 years of health system strategy and operations experience. She most recently was chief executive officer of Arizona Asthma & Allergy Institute.
Prior to that, she was vice president of CommonSpirit: Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Washington, as well as chief executive officer at Palomar Health Medical Group in California, Lovelace Health System: New Mexico Heart Institute in New Mexico and the National Cardiovascular Partners in Arizona.
Through these roles, Kyrimis has demonstrated success in integrated health care systems, hospitals, multispecialty medical groups and ambulatory care networks.
“Mrs. Kyrimis’ skill set and multitude of outstanding accomplishments over the span of her career serve as a powerful foundation as she steps into the role of president/CEO at Springhill Medical Center,” said Celia Wallace, owner and chairman of the board of Southern Medical Health Systems.
Kyrimis earned her master’s degree from the University of Oxford in England and an MBA from the University of California in Irvine. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Arizona State University.
She is a candidate for the doctoral of science degree in health care leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and holds special certifications from the Virginia Mason Production System for specialized management to improve health care processes and from Lean Healthcare for demonstrating expertise in optimizing health care operations.
Springhill Medical Center is a 270-bed acute care hospital in Mobile that is in its 50th year. It provides full surgical capabilities including open-heart and robotic surgery, as well as complete diagnostics capabilities. The hospital includes a comprehensive heart center, senior residence, sleep medicine center, cancer center, an ENT and multi-specialty surgery center, wound center and hyperbaric center, as well as an emergency department.
