Spirit furloughing employees, ending service in Birmingham

Spirit Airlines is planning to furlough about 1,800 flight attendants and will end service in 12 cities, including Birmingham, according to KARE 11, which says service will be discontinued the week of Oct. 2. The airline filed for bankruptcy for the second time in August. – AL.com

Troy will offer Doctor of Chiropractic program

Troy University has received approval from the Alabama Commission on Higher Education to offer a Doctor of Chiropractic program at its Dothan campus. The program must now receive final approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. – Troy University
