Sparks Energy, a power infrastructure services firm based in Danville that counts Alabama Power among its customers, is merging with 10X Capital Venture Acquisition Corp. The newly combined company will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol SPKS.  – Sparks Energy

 

Harbert awarded $122 million construction contract

Birmingham-based B.L. Harbert International was awarded a $122.4 million contract by the U.S. Army for a 91,300-square-foot material exploitation center at Redstone Arsenal. The estimated completion date is June 8, 2025.  – U.S. Department of Defense

Wharf Casual Seafood opening 3 new Alabama locations

Wharf Casual Seafood, which already has locations in Wetumpka, Dothan and Montgomery, plans to open three more in the state, including one in Alexander City next month. Other locations are planned for Sylacauga and another one in Central Alabama.  – AL.com

 

UAH will offer cybersecurity scholarships

The University of Alabama in Huntsville’s Center for Cybersecurity Research and Education will offer cybersecurity scholarships beginning in fall 2023. Any cybersecurity-related degree is eligible for the scholarships, funded by the National Science Foundation in cooperation with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. – University of Alabama in Huntsville
