Space Center hosting Artemis launch party

The U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville is planning a launch party Monday, the day Artemis 1 is launched to the moon.  The center will stream NASA’s official live broadcast on a giant screen. The party doors will open at 6:30 a.m. with the launch window currently set from 7:33 a.m. to 9:33 a.m. The launch of the Huntsville-designed rocket will be from Kennedy Space Center in Florida.  – News 19

 

Birmingham City Council helps pay World Games debt

The Birmingham City Council has approved an additional $5 million to help the World Games 2022 pay off a $15 million debt. Mayor Randall Woodfin said the additional funds will come from the city’s surplus revenue.  – WVTM 13

Onward Reserve opening first Alabama location

Men’s lifestyle retailer Onward Reserve will open its first Alabama location in Mountain Brook’s Lane Parke. The store, to open in the fall, will have sportswear, T-shirts and gifts, including University of Alabama and Auburn University-branded apparel. – AL.com
