
Misti Potter has been named the new executive director of the Singing River Trail in Huntsville. Potter has more than 27 years of nonprofit experience. She previously worked as CEO with the Boys & Girls Club of the Austin Area.
Potter succeeds Anna Clem, who was named interim executive director in July 2024.

Her expertise in nonprofit leadership, combined with her proven ability to deliver impactful results, positions her as the ideal choice to lead our organization,” said Jared Mitchem, SRT Board chair. “The board has full confidence in Misti’s vision and dedication to furthering the mission of SRT and creating a lasting legacy for North Alabama.”

Potter’s experience has included creating award-winning programs, building community partnerships and driving multimillion-dollar campaigns. For her efforts, she has been named Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Regional and National Professional of the Year, and received the Ethics in Business Individual Award and the Vistage Executive Leadership Award.
She is a graduate of Athens State University and a past collegiate athlete at Bevill State Community College. She and her family live in Limestone County.
“Misti’s passion for community-building will be instrumental in driving the vision of SRT. I am confident Misti’s ideas and expertise will take Singing River Trail to new heights,” said Clem.
As executive director of the Singing River Trail, Potter will provide oversight of the organization’s mission to enhance and expand the 200+ mile greenway system throughout North Alabama.
