Robins & Morton is beginning work on AdventHealth’s new Riverview Hospital in Riverview, Florida. The project has been reported at $216 million.

The 282,000-square-foot, four-story hospital is scheduled to open in the spring of 2023 with 80 patient beds and room to expand to 200 beds. The hospital will provide emergency, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedic and urology services.

“Building hospitals is what really excites us as a company,” said Todd Watson, operations manager for Robins & Morton. “It’s very fulfilling to build a place that you know will serve the public once you leave.”

The construction also marks the continuation of a long-standing relationship between Robins & Morton and AdventHealth.

“We have done several projects together. We understand the value and the goals of AdventHealth and the ministry and vision they bring to their communities,” said Watson.

AdventHealth Riverview President and CEO Jason Newmyer said, “It’s not every day that you get to build a new hospital from the ground up.” He added that the company gathered input from both health care providers and the public to help guide the design, including patient spaces.

HuntonBrady will serve as the architect on the project.

Founded in 1946 in Birmingham, Robins & Morton has completed nearly $10 billion in projects throughout the U.S. in the last 10 years. In addition to hospitals, the privately owned general contractor builds commercial projects representing various industries.
