Repowr, a 2021 graduate of the Velocity Accelerator at Birmingham’s Innovation Depot, has raised $4.2 million in a seed money round led by Koch Disruptive Technologies. The Repowr marketplace allows users to book underused trucks and trailers within minutes. – Alabama NewsCenter

Mobile’s container port headed toward another expansion

 

Negotiations are underway between the Port of Mobile and APM Terminals to further expand the container port that APM operates. The expansion would cost about $72 million and roughly double the size of the terminal. – AL.com

Target coming to downtown Auburn

The Godbold Building, scheduled to come to downtown Auburn in 2023, will include a Target on the ground floor and 32 apartments on the two floors above. Fencing is already up with the Target logo, and the site has been cleared. – WRBL

UA’s IMaDE focuses on workforce development

The University of Alabama recently launched the Alabama Initiative on Manufacturing Development and Education (IMaDE). The goal of the group is advanced manufacturing education and workforce development for employees in advanced tools and technology. – Assembly
